Petrol bunk vandalised in AP

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 4: Minor incidents of violence marked the bandh in Andhra Pradesh called to protest against the Supreme Court stay on 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in central instituions, with a petrol pump in Warangal town s being vandalised.

Talking to newspersons here, district Additional Superintendent of Police Goutam said agitators pelted stones on the petrol bunk while organising a motor rally. Some of them even broke the windows and destroyed the furniture in the bunk.

Tension prevailed for some time in the surrounding areas.

The agitators fled the scene immediately after the police reached the spot.

Security has been strengthened and patrolling beefed up in the town. A search is going on to nab the culprits.

The bandh call was given by the state BC welfare Associations and supported by the government and opposition parties.
