Noel Tata inaugurates 'Titan Eye+' showroom

Bangalore, Apr 4: Titan Industries Director Noel Tata today inaugurated the company's first 'Titan Eye+' showroom, marking the company's foray into prescription eyewear.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Titan Eye+, a chain of optical stores would redefine the industry and straddle the marketplace with exacting quality standards, unparalleled in the country's prescription eyewear industry.

''Benchmarked against the best in the world, Titan Eye+ would herald standardisation and new practices in the highly fragmented and undifferentiated Indian optical retail segment,'' he added.

Mr Tata said ''currently the reluctance of consumers to enter a prescription retail outlet arises from their concern about look downgrade and the accuracy of eye tests offered at these outlets.

Titan Eye+ would offer several confidence building services like state-of-the-art refraction lab for Zero Error Prescription, scratch resistant lenses, coupled with warranty and style consultancy in order to develop the market and eradicate these concerns.'' He said Titan Eye+ would be opened in Bangalore and Nagpur in the initial phase and subsequently rolled out in other parts of the country in the next fiscal. This year, five more Titan Eye+ showrooms would be opened in Bangalore and one in Nagpur.

Titan Industries Managing Director Bhaskar Bhat said ''Titan eye+ stores would offer the widest and most stylish optical range currently available in the country.''
