Karnataka Legislative Council mourns seer's death
Bangalore, Apr 4: Rich tributes were paid to Sri Punyanandapuri Swamiji of the Valmiki Peet in Rajanahalli, killed in a road mishap in Davanagere yesterday, in the Karnataka Legislative Council today.
As soon as the House assembled, Officiating Chairman Sachidananda Khot moved a condolence motion.
Speaking on the motion, Leader of the Opposition H K Patil, V S Ugrappa (both Congress), Dr M P Nada Gouda (JD-U), Ministers Ramachandra Gowda (BJP) and Chennigappa (JD-S) remembered the yeoman service rendered by the seer in organising the depressed classes of the society.
The House maintained two minutes silence to pay homage to the departed soul.
