Cauvery agitation continues unabated

Mysore, Apr 4: Agitation by farmers and other pro-Kannada organisations against the final award of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) continued for the 59th day in the Cauvery basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagara.
In Mandya, the rasta rokho and protests were held at various places. The Cauvery Hitha Rakshna Samithi, which has been spearheading the agitation, has convened a meeting of all the legislators and others tomorrow to discuss the future course of action on the agitation.

Meanwhile the relay hunger strike by the Samithi continued at Silver Jubilee Park. A dharna was held in Maddur, Pandavapura and Srirangapatna.

In Chamarajanagara, the Zilla Panchayat President, Vice President and members took out a procession against the verdict and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner's office.

The Cauvery Kriya Samithi continued its protest at K R Circle in Mysore.
