BHEL registers 30 percent growth in 2006-07
Bangalore, Apr 4: The Bangalore based units of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) today reported a combined turnover of Rs 1496 crore for 2006-07, up by 30 per cent over the previous year's Rs 1150 crore.
The profit before tax was also up by 30 per cent at Rs 376 crore as against Rs 289 crore for 2005-06.
The Group Companies here had a combined order book of Rs 2885 crore as on April one this year as against Rs 2434 crore in April last year.
BHEL's Bangalore Division continued to maintain its leadership position in instrumentation and control business with a market share of 65 per cent, with bookings to the tune of Rs 1200 crore recorded in one single year for power plant and industrial automation systems, BHEL said in a release here.
The Electronics Division of BHEL had also successfully established remote connectivity through analysis, diagnostics and optimisation server heralding a new era in better management of power plants even from a remote location.
Among notable achievements of the Bangalore based units included successful development and testing of 320kN/420kN Disc Insulators for 765 KV UHV Systems for the first time in the country and successful development of composite long rod insulators of silicon rubber with nano additives for transmission and traction application.
In line with the corporate strategic plan for 2012, the Bangalore units of BHEL were poised to triple the turnover, the release added.
