"Z Plus" security provided to Sukhbir Singh Badal

Patiala, Apr 3 (UNI) The Punjab Government has extended ''Z plus'' security cover to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Working President Sukhbir Singh Badal.

This will be in addition to the CISF security provided to Mr Badal, MP, by the Union Home Ministry official sources here said.

While the top Akali leader already has the maximum security cover, the state police have further tightened his security by deputing more security personnel. A SP level officer of CISF has already been attached with Mr Badal and the state police has also given the responsibility of his security to one SP.

During previous Congress Government, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had expressed apprehension that some terrorist elements wanted to eliminate him and his family, including Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, before the February 13 Assembly polls to stop him from coming to power again.
