Wipro announces winners of coding contest

Bangalore, Apr 3 (UNI) Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Ltd, today announced winners of its nationwide coding contest -- CodeZap Guru.

The winners for KA Zone that included contestants from Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra and TN Zone covering Tamil Nadu was released during the official launch of Campus2Career, an initiative to facilitate the transition of students from the academic world to the professional world.

CodeZap Guru was a multi-stage computer programming contest that involved the participation of over 8,000 students from 125 campuses where Wipro had recruited. The objective of this contest was to emphasise coding ability as a key competency area for fresh campus graduates, thus accelerating their entry into projects, a company release here said today.

The winners included Sony Francis Jose from KA Zone and Kaushik Narayanan from TN Zone. Both received Wipro laptop as first prize.
