TDP MLAs stage dharna before Markfed, demand MSP for cotton
Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs and the newly-elected Legislative Council members today staged a dharna in front of the state Marketing Federation (MarkFed) office, demanding that the govenrment should provide remunerative price to cotton and sugarcane growers and other commercial crops.
After the dharna, the TDP delegation submitted a memorandum to MarkFed Chairman Mudhusudhana Reddy, urging him to resolve the problems faced by the farmers duo to non-availability of Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the commercial crops.
Mr Reddy assured the delegation that the issue would be brought to the notice of the minister concerned and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
