Jaipur, Apr 3 (UNI) The Pink City's Municipal Corporation will soon start an extra 'cleanliness period' in schools to make students aware about the importance of keeping their city and surroundings clean.

With the aim to keep the city clean, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with the Education department will launch an ''extra cleaning period'' in the city's government and private schools.

JMC officials say the idea behind the project is to nurture the habit of cleanliness among children and also to make them realise the importance of keeping one's city clean. As it is difficult to change the habits of adults, the project is aimed at children as today's children would become future adults.

The children would be taught about cleanliness, health and daily habits. They would be asked to keep their classrooms and surroundings clean and utilise the dustbin.

The course for the extra period was prepared and sent to education department for approval. A video film on the cleanliness drive has also been prepared for children.

The proposal is to involve NGOs to take forward this project.
