Somnath visits Karamsad, pays homage to Sardar

Anand, Apr 3 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today visited the Sardar Patel Memorial at Karamsad and paid floral tributes to the statues of Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel and his elder brother Patel.

Earlier, Mr Chatterjee arrived attended the 26th annual convocation of IRMA. He is also expected to visit Navli near here to get first hand information of the co-operative movement there.

Later addressing the mediapersons after the convocation, Mr Chatterjee referring to the uproarious scenes in Parliament, said he was not happy with the way these incidents were happening regularly.

''MPs raising questions is important. But it has to be done in an orderly fashion,'' he said.

On Nandigram incident and a move to remove West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and appoint him as the Chief Minister, Mr Chatterjee said he has heard no such thing so far. He also preferred to keep mum on the Singur issue. On the OBC quota issue, he said an all-party meeting would be called to discuss the issue on April 5 or 6.
