Six withdraw papers in Phase-III; 216 files for phase-IV

Lucknow, Apr 3(UNI) Altogether six nominations papers were withdrawn for the third phase of assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh while 216 candidates filed their nominations for the fourth Phase today.

A total of 10 candidates have filed their nominations for Phase-V in 58 assembly seats where the notification was issued this morning and polling will be held on April 28.

Now 1027 candidates are left in the fray for the third phase, polling in which will be held on April 18 across 57 assembly constituencies. Tomorrow is the last date of withdrawal for phase-III.

For phase-IV, now 633 candidates have submitted their nomination papers and tomorrow is the last date for filing of the papers.

Scrutiny of papers will be undertaken on April 5 while the last date ofwithdrawal is April 7. Polling will be held on April 23 across 57 assembly constituencies.

The poll process for the second phase of polling to be held on April 13 has also been completed with 883 candidates in the fray. In the first phase as many as 848 candidates will battle it out for 62 seats.
