Ranjit Shahani elected as President of BCCI for 2007-08
Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) Mr Ranjit Shahani, Vice Chairman&Managing Director, Novartis India Ltd, has been elected as the President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce&Industry (BCCI), for 2007-08.
The Bombay Chamber is one of India's premier and oldest Chambers of Commerce&Industry.
Talking to UNI on the occasion, Mr Ranjit Shahani said ''I am honoured to be elected as the President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce&Industry for 2007-08. The Chamber seeks to reflect the views, perceptions and interests of its member companies in a proactive and constructive manner. It has been playing a pivotal role in enhancing the status of Mumbai as the Industrial, Financial and Commercial Capital of India. It will be my endeavour to continue on the good work being initiated by the current President of the Chamber, Mr Ashok Wadhwa''.
''We will soon unfurl a calendar of activities that will include events, seminars and interactions with globally recognized stalwarts,'' he added.
Mr Rajiv Lall, Managing Director&CEO, IDFC Ltd, has been elected as Vice President of the Chamber.
Both of them will assume the office after the forthcoming AGM, in May 2007.
