Mechanic buried with car as per his wish!

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Apr 3: The people of Sivapuram, a small hamlet near Kumbakonam, witnessed a unique burial: a 66-year-old man buried along with his car.

For Narayanasamy, a mechanic by profession, his car 'Morris Minor' was something that he held very close to his heart.

It had become a part and parcel of his life, from the time he bought it some 30 years back.

Mr Narayanasamy, who was ailing for the past three weeks died on March 31 afternoon and as per his wish, the family members with the help of villagers prepared a big pit in his house on April one to accommodate his car.

The body was laid inside the car and lowered into the pit.

The last rituals were also performed.

''It was my father's last wish to bury him in his car, which he loved most and we have done that,'' his son Sukumar said.

He is survived by three sons and three daughters. He was also a farmer.
