Sri Lanka for SAARC Union and single currency
New Delhi, Apr 3: Sri Lanka today said SAARC should become a Union and adopt a common currency.
''I strongly believe that SAARC must become a Union where we will endevour to achieve our political and economic pursuits,'' Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse said in his address at the 14th SAARC Sumit here.
''It is also high time that we adopt a single currency, which will enhance the productivity of the region and improve trade without barriers,'' he said.
