Hyundai gets going with 'Getz Prime'

Chennai, Apr 3 (UNI) Leading car manufacturer Hyundai today launched the 'Getz Prime' in the city today in a bid to strengthen its small car sales.

Addressing the press at the launch function here, Hyundai President H S Leem said the vehicle came with two engine options.

"A powerful 1.3 litre and economical 1.1 litre petrol engine will bolster the existing range of Hyundai cars in the country.

"While the 1.3 litre variant is targeted at all those looking for performance along with stylish looks and space, the slightly smaller 1.1 litre petrol version will offer the same amount of space but at a lower ownership cost," he added.

"To add to the features, Getz Prime comes with double action hydraulic shock absorbers in front and gas shock absorbers at the rear allowing passengers to smoothly glide over rough roads," he said.

The variants of Getz Prime model are priced between Rs 3.89 lakh and Rs 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai).

''We are now working on the diesel version of Prime and may launch it in the second half of this year,'' he said adding "by the end of this year, the company targets to export 40,000 units of this car to Europe and 30,000 units for the domestic market." UNI
