Nagaland: Governor, CM visit Sainik School
Kohima, Apr 03: Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, along with some Ministers and senior bureaucrats, visited Sainik School at Punglwa under Peren district yesterday.
According to official sources here today during a brief interaction with the visiting team, the Principal and faculty members of the school and public from the neighbouring village, the Governor praised Mr Rio for his initiative stating that the Sainik school at Punglwa is Rio's baby which has grown up.
He hoped that students will grow up into disciplined and knowledgeable personalities. He also donated Rs. one lakh from the Governor's Relief Fund for the school.
In his speech Rio expressed his gratitude to the Defence Ministry, the NBCC (National Building Construction Corporation) for constructing the complex in time, Punglwa and neighbouring villages and the Minister for School Education for their efforts and cooperation towards timely construction of the complex.
Minister for School Education Imkong L. Imchen, Forest and IPR Minister Kheto, Agriculture Minister Kuzholuzo, Parliamentary Secretary Doshehe and several senior bureaucrats were also attended the function.
