Girl drowned

Badwani, MP, Apr 3 (UNI) A six-year-old girl drowned in a pond while attempting to rescue her two and a half-year-old brother at DRP Lines in this district last evening, police said today.

A constable's daughter, Sanjana, was playing with her brother Nayan near Dhobadia pond at DRP Lines when the latter slipped into the pond.

Sanjana jumped into the pond but went into deep waters.

Both were rescued by some labourers, who were working nearby, and taken to hospital, where Sanjana was declared dead. Nayan's condition was stated to be stable.
