Former Doon school student arrested in hit and run case;granted bail

Dehradun, Apr 3 (UNI) A former Doon School student was today arrested in connection with he recent hit-and-run case.

He was later granted bail by a local court.

Police arrested Abhimanyu Walia at around 1330 hrs and presented him before Special Civil Judge (Junior Division) Pritu Rani. He was granted bail against two bail bonds of Rs 10,000 each.

On March 28, Walia, then a student of the prestigious Doon School, had allegedly hit motorcycle-borne Vikrant and Rahul by his car at Rajpur road and was absconding ever since.

While Vikrant died on the spot, Rahul was seriously injured.

SO Rajpur, K K Namburi said the incident occurred when the accused was on his way to Dehradun from Mussorie along with his two friends.
