Arunachal: Fire engulfs many houses in Complex

Itanagar, Apr 3: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang urged upon the people for proper planning for construction of their houses to avoid accidents like fire.

Apang, who made an on-the-spot visit to Chandranagar in the Capital Complex, where a devastating inferno engulfed several houses and properties, once again stressed on passages between the houses to avoid fire accident in the future.

Appreciating the community help in rebuilding of the houses, the chief minister also called upon the local populace for help to the affected families through social services etc.

While interacting with the victims of yesterday's fire accident, he assured all types help from the state government to provide relief to affected households. As his personal contribution, he donated a sum of Rs One lakh to the victims.

EAC P Loyi, who was present on the spot during the visit, apprised the Chief Minister of ten structures, including two shops were completely destroyed, affected twelve families. One person was injured in the fire fighting and was admitted in Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, here.

Giving details, Officer In-charge of Itanagar Police Station, Make Bui informed that fire broke oout at around 10.20 pm yesterday.

After getting information two fire tenders were rushed to the spot along with senior police officers. The cause of the accident is under investigation, he added.
