Cricket betting continues unabated in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Apr 3 (UNI) With the Cricket World Cup on, the betting on the game continues in the state with Sikar being one of its major centres.

According to police, betters (Sattarios) have their agents spread all over the state. The sattoris in Sikar get and compare betting amounts from those in Mumbai and abroad.

Police nabbed two betters from city's Vaishali Nagar area late last night indulging in betting worth Rs 1.25 crore.

Sharvan Kumar, 34 of Didwana, Nagaur and Pankaj Jain,32, of Jaipur were found indulging in betting and were found with television set, DTH set, calculator, three dairies, one laser notebook and five mobiles and Rs 1,000 in cash.

The seized diary indicates betting business worth Rs 1.32 crore.

Both the accused said they began betting as soon as the World Cup started.

Shravan Kumar said they get their orders from Sikar but the betting values were fixed after consulting sattarios abroad.

Shravan is said to have got training in betting. He was arrested earlier in Sikar two years back, but got released on bail and restarted the betting business.
