Cops suspended over custody death in MP

Sagar, MP, Apr 3 (UNI) An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and constable have been suspended after a 50-year-old accused was found hanging yesterday at a police station in this district.

Ram Lal Sahu was arrested late on April 1 and allegedly committed suicide in the Bandri Police Station. Agitated over the incident, the deceased's kin and locals blocked a road and demanding registration of a murder case against the police.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shahid Avsar suspended ASI Purushottam Tiwari and Constable Arun Kumar. Ex-gratia of Rs 10,000 was provided.
