Copper, brass, nickel rises further on fresh industrial demand

Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) Copper, brass and nickel rose further on fresh industrial demand as the London Metal Exchange also hiked on good buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) today said.

In ferrous section, copper heavy, brass cuttings, brass utensils, and copper utensils went up by Rs 600, Rs 400, Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and lead ingots edged up by Rs 600 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on better buying support while aluminium ingots and zinc slab increased by Rs 100 each per quintal on good demand.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode went up by Rs five and Rs 60 per kg on lesser stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,200, Copper utensils - Rs 31,200, Brass utensils - Rs 25,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,100, Zinc slab Rs 18,100, Lead ingots - Rs 9,700, Tin slab - Rs 755 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,320 (per kg).
