Co directors convicted in 'date expired drugs' case

Chennai, Apr 3 (UNI) A local court today convicted the directors of Subiksha Pharmacy for selling ''date expired drugs'' and sentenced them to an year's rigorious imprisonment.

V Metropolitan Magistrate S U William convicted Subiksha Pharmacy Directors R Subramanian and R Hariharan and the company's authorised signatory Rathna Kumar on a case launched by the Department of Drugs Control Administration.

The magistrate also slapped a fine of Rs 45,000 on each of the three accused for non-maintenance of records and registers under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules and non-disclosure of the name and address of the person from whom they acquired the drugs.

Subiksha Pharmacy is a unit of Pentagon Trading Services Limited.
