Centre releases 83.52 lakh to HP under SGRY
Shimla, Apr 3 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned Rs 83.52 lakh grant-in aid to Kullu and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh as its share in the implementation of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) during 2006-07, an official spokesman today said.
The Ministry of Rural Development had sanctioned a second installment of Rs 51.12 lakh to Kullu district and Rs 32.31 lakh to Una district, he said in a release here.
The spokesman said the grant was for planned expenditure and would be utilised for approved constructon work, subject to the conditions laid down in the SGRY.
The expenditure on the implementation of the programme was to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the state government, he said.
He said SGRY, a centrally-sponsored scheme (CSS), aimed at providing additional wage employment and food security to rural people, besides creating durable community assets, socio-economic infrastructure.
Under the scheme, foodgrains were being provided free of cost to state governments and union territory adminstration.
The payment for food grains was made by the Ministry of Rural Development to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) directly.
