Centre grants Rs 5 crore for SB educational institutions

Gulbarga, Apr 3 (UNI) The Centre has granted Rs five crore aid to Sharana Basaveshwara Vidyavardhak Sanstha to develop infrastructure to introduce a five-year post graduate course in tourism and travel.

Informing this to reporters here yesterday, Sharana Basaveshwara Educational Institutions Chairman Sharanabasaappa said Rs 80 lakh had been released for the purpose. The course, to be introduced soon, would be the first to be offered by any institution in the backward Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

He said Rs 85 lakh would be spent on constructing a ladies hostel and Rs 80 lakh on a college building at Basava Kalyan in Bidar district.

He said the Centre had also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh to set up a FM radio station in SB college to broadcast spiritual and educational programmes.
