Central Assistance to the state under SGSY

Agartala, Apr 3 (UNI) The Union Rural Development Ministry has released Rs 76.30 lakh as additional instalment to Tripura under the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna(SGSY) during last financial year.

According to government sources here today, the instalment was the central share under the SGSY that was given to the Development Department of Rural Development Agency(DRDA) of North Tripura District.

The amount has to be utilised on the programme as per approved guidelines of SGSY and the funding pattern will be 75:25 by the Centre and State respectively.

The state has been instructed to release its share within one month of the date of release of the Central assistance under SGSY whch was given to the poor families living below the poverty line for taking up self-employment to promote the rural poor into Self-Help Groups, the sources stated.
