Cauvery agitation enters 58th day
Mysore, Apr 3 (UNI) The agitation by farmers and pro-Kannada organisations against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal in the Cauvery basin regions entered the 58th day today.
In Mandya district, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike members staged a demonstration and resorted to rail roko, detaining Mysore-Bangalore special train at Mandya station for some time.
Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike by the Cauvery Hitarakshana Samithi, led by its President G Made Gowda, continued at Silver Jubilee Park in Mandya. Dharnas and protests were also held at Maddur, Pandavapura and Srirangapatna.
The non-stop strike by the Cauvery Kriya Samithi of Mysore district continued at K R Circle.
