CAG slams Mizoram PHE for poor performance

Aizawl, Apr 3(UNI) The Comptroller&Auditor General of India report 2006 has criticised the Mizoram's Public Health Engineer for poor implementation of the Water Supply Scheme (WSS), with emphasis on North Kawnpui Water Supply Scheme.

The report stated due to delay in completion of the scheme the cost overrun by Rs 1.57 crore and it was incurred a loss of Rs 9.15 lakh.

It has also said that PHE department's failure to have as many as 2624 defective water meters replaced by the supplier during the warranty period, was valued at Rs 24.42 lakh.
