Bharat Nirman Campaign at Coimbatore on Apr 5

Chennai, Apr 3: State Rural Industries Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy will launch the 14th edition of Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Coimbatore on April 5.

An official release here said the Minister would also inaugurate a massive 'Info Expo', being mounted by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at VOC park in Avinashi road.

The five-day campaign would focus on Bharat Nirman, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural Health Mission, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Right to Information Act and other pioneering welfare schemes of the Centre.

As a part of the campaign, PIB and Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity were jointly organising an exhibition at VOC Park.

Various Central and state government departments, Public Sector Undertakings, NGOs and SHGs were showcasing their products and services at the exhibition.

In addition, intensive grass-roots level information dissemination campaign would be held at 30 villages in and around Coimbatore district.

The Directorate of Field Publicity would be mounting the rural campaign by employing multi-media methods.

Union Minister of state for Railways R Velu, Union Minister of state for Law and Justice K Venkatapathy, Union Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Subblakshmi Jagdeesan and other state ministers would also participate in the campaign, the release added.
