AICC Gen Sec welcomes decision to drop satellite towns

Puducherry, Apr 3 (UNI) AICC General Secretary V Narayansamy, MP, today welcomed the decision of the territorial administration to drop the plan to set up satellite towns near Arumparthapuram.

In a statement here, Mr Narayansamy said he along with the farmers in the areas and DPA constituents had opposed the setting up of the satallite town since ,the areas identified were fertile lands and expressed their opposition to the Lt Governor and Chief Minister.

Thanking the Lt Governor, Chief Minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Mr Narayanasami said that about 1,000 farmers in the area would now live in peace.
