2.34 kg heroin seized, one arrested in Punjab

Ludhiana, Apr 3 (UNI) Police arrested a Jammu-based man following recovery of 2.340 kg heroin from his possession near Samrala chowk in this industrial city.

According to Directorate Revenue Intelligence sources, the drug smuggler had been identified as Ramnik Singh of Jammu. He had taken the consignment to Chandigarh to deliver it to a Nigerian but had to returned with the drug as he was unable to meet him, they added.

On the way back, his vehicle was stopped for routine checking at the police post put up near Samrala chowk.

Police nabbed him after the recovery of the contraband during the search and had registered a case against him, sources said.
