Woman, son beaten to death

Pratapgarh, Apr 2 (UNI) An aged woman and her son were beaten to death over a trivial issue by their relatives in Kotwali City area here today.

One of the accused identified as Ramakant has been arrested.

Police said around 0600 hrs, Ramakant's family members were collecting fallen 'Mahua' flowers, which was objected by his sister-in-law (bhabhi) Saraswati (52) and her son Dhirendra (28).

Dhirendra also reportedly attacked Ramakant's son with a baton.

Infuriated at this, Ramakant and his three sons -- armed with baton, rifle and axe -- started beating Saraswati and Dhirendra, resulting their instant death.
