Tripura govt expresses concern over decrease in water levels
Agartala, Apr 2(UNI) The Tripura government has expressed concern over reduction of water levels of most of the rivers due to drought like situation.
No rainfall has been reported in the state after October which led to drying up of the rivers like Howrah river in the capital city and Gomoti river.
The Public Health Engineer department here supply drinking water from Howrah River.
The other towns in the state also depend on river water.
Officials today said if the prevailing drought like situation continues, then the people of the state would face acute shortage of water.
