RJD leading after sixth round of counting in Palamu
Daltonganj, Apr 2 (UNI) Counting for Palamu Parliamentary seat bypoll today began amid tight security with RJD's Ghuran Ram leading after the sixth round of counting.
Mr Ram was leading by 7,200 votes over his nearest rival Kameshwar Baitha(BSP). The BSP candidate was presently lodged at Garwah jail.
BJP's Jawahar Paswan was trailing on the third position.
On March 29, an estimated 13.66 lakh electorate exercised their franchise in the naxal-dominated Palamu Lok Sabha bypoll, which was necessitated after Manoj Bhuiyan (RJD) quit his Lok Sabha membership following the cash-for-query scam.
A total of 15 candidates were in the battle of ballots.
