Rains likely in NE states, WB, Sikkim

Pune, Apr 2 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat State, north Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of east Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh. Hot day conditions prevailed in some parts of coastal Saurashtra and at isolated places in Bihar and Marathwada.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, South Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha, in remaining parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Marathwada and were above normal in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Interior Saurashtra and North Madhya Maharashtra, in some parts of west Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and of interior Karnataka. They were below normal in remaining parts of west Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the country.
