Rahul promises faster development if Cong voted to power

Lalitpur, Apr 2 (UNI) Congress MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi today promised ''faster development'' in Uttar Pradesh if his party was voted to power in the state.

Addressing large public meetings as part of his roadshow here, Mr Gandhi alleged that only religion and caste-based politics had been practised in the state during the last 15 years of non-Congress regimes.

''This has resulted in zero development in UP...We (Congress) promise to bring about a turnover in five years to undo the damage caused in the last 15 years,'' he asserted.

He also exhorted the youth to work shoulder-to-shoulder with him for ushering in development in UP.

The Congress' star campaigner further promised composite development of the neglected and impoverished Bundelkhand region, if the party got a mandate to form the government after the assembly polls.
