Puducherry, Apr 2 (UNI) A government resolution urging the Centre to convene both Houses of Parliament for discussing the OBC reservation in the wake of the Supreme Court order staying the implementation of the notification providing 27 per cent quota for OBCs in Centrally- run higher educational institutions was unanimously adopted in the Territorial Assembly today.

Moving the resolution, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said the interim stay order would affect the OBCs in education and social development. Hence, the Centre should convene both Houses of Parliament forthwith to discuss the issue and take decisions in a manner the OBC s were not affected.

Being an important issue, there could be neither a second opinion among the members nor need for debate. The resolution was then adopted unanimously without debate.
