PDP leader withdraws resignation

Jammu, Apr 2 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party MLA and the party's chief whip in the Assembly Ghulam Hassan Khan today withdrew his resignation following assurances by the PDP leadership.

Sources said Mr Khan met party president Mehbooba Mufti soon after submitting his resignation yesterday and discussed his grievances.

''I was assured by the party leaders that my grievances would be looked into,'' Mr Khan told reporters adding, ''I have withdrawn the resignation following the assurances.'' The MLA from Shopian had submitted his resignation on Saturday to the party high command in protest against the appointments of some officials in his constituency.
