Passenger arrested for producing fake passport

Chennai, Apr 2 (UNI) Airport Police arrested a 35 year-old air passenger when he attempted to fly to Qatar with a fake passport, at Anna international airport here today.

The police said the arrested person, Kamal Mohammed, hailing from Pattukkottai in Thanjavur District presented his passport before the immigration authorities to board the flight. But they found that the passport was not genuine.

During interrogation by the immigration authorities, the man fell on the floor and sustained head injuries. The police noticed this but refused to take custody of the man.

However, the immigration authorities provided medical treatment to him and also produced a detailed medical report. After this, police arrested the passenger and remanded him to judicial custody.
