Mulayam's ultimatum to EC
Ferozabad, Apr 2 (UNI) Upping the ante against Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today warned the central body of an agitation, if it did not change its attitude within four days.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Yadav made no bones about his unhappiness at the strictness perpetuated by EC in the coming UP assembly poll.
''EC should not breach its limit...too much strictness is being dictated. If the Commission does not change its attitude within four days, we will launch an agitation,'' he warned.
Observing that BSP, BJP and Congress were akin, Mr Yadav said while Congress wanted to implicate his family in false cases, BSP had already announced to put him and Amar Singh behind bars.
''On the other hand, BJP wants compulsory recitation of Vande Mataram in schools. Now, people have to decide if they want to vote for such a party, '' he added.
Meanwhile, he said farmers would be adequately compensated in event of loss and houses would be provided to all.
