Justice Rajendra Babu new NHRC Chairperson

New Delhi, Apr 02 (UNI) Former Chief Justice of India Justice S Rajendra Babu today took over as the new Chairperson of National Human Rights Commission.

He is the fifth Chairperson of the Commission and he has taken over from Justice (Retd) Shivaraj V Patil.

Dr Rajendra Babu was Chair Professor at National Law School of India University, Bangalore, before the present assignment.

He retired as Chief Justice of India on June 1, 2004.
