International Coffee Meet begins April 12
Kalpetta, Apr 2: An International coffee meet will be held at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad District of Kerala from April 12 to deliberate in detail the problems being faced by coffee growers in different continents.
The decision to hold the meet was taken at a convention of various agricultural organizations at Sulthan Bathery, Mr K T Devissia, President of South Indian Growers Assocation, one of the organisers, said.
The meet will also discuss ways and means to formulate international network for marketing and get higher prices for coffee producers, he said.
Representatives of coffee producing countries from world over, industrialists, traders, science-techno experts, environmentalists and media personnel were expected to participate in the two-day event, he said.
A 100-member organising committee has been formed for the successful commencement of the event, he said.
