Indian couple denies human trafficking charges
Dubai, Apr 2 (UNI) An Indian woman has refuted charges of human trafficking levelled against her in a court here.
The 55-year-old woman, whose name has not been disclosed but goes by MS, denied attempting trafficking two young boys via Dubai to France when she appeared in the court yesterday.
She also denied forging the boys' passports, claiming her husband and she were accompanying the children to Paris with the consent of their parents.
The woman was arrested along with her husband, AK, 60, on December 24 last year after they were stopped at Dubai airport withthe two youngsters.
Dubai Public Prosecution has charged them with trafficking the Indian boys, aged 12 and 13 years, 7Days reported.
The couple were allegedly being paid nearly 70,000 dirham to sell the children, the court was informed.
During the first hearing on March 25, AK had denied any wrongdoing.
They were also charged with forging the boys' passports, which both disagreed.
The trial was adjourned until late this month for the testimony of a security officer.
