Hyundai's diesel Getz coming soon, launches Prime
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Strengthening its small car line-up, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said it will launch the diesel version of its new hatchback Getz Prime by the end of this year.
''We are now working on the diesel version of Prime and may launch it in the second half of this year,'' Hyundai Managing Director H S Lheem told reporters while launching the new Getz 'Prime' priced between Rs 3.89 lakh and Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The company plans to launch the diesel version (1.5 litre engine) from its second plant in Chennai and also the 'yet to be named' (code named PA) car by mid-October this year.
The PA will be the mid segment of Hyundai's largest selling car Santro and the Getz, ''Where Santro will be placed at the lower segment and PA at the upper segment,'' said Mr Lheem.
The new Getz 1.1 litre petrol engine GLE and GVS will be priced at Rs 3,89,944 lakh and 4,21,365 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively, whereas the other two 1.3 petrol engine GLS and GLX will be available at Rs 4,89,820 lakh and Rs 5,24,925 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
The new car will come with a range of 11 exterior colours and new interior fascia.
Prime has attractive exteriors and more cabin space than the older version with new hood, fender, and front panels. The double action hydraulic shock absorbers in front and gas shock absorbers in rear will let the driver smoothly glide over rough roads.
The vehicle was unveiled by tennis sensation and Getz brand ambassodor Sania Mirza.
