Dhaka, Apr 2 (UNI) Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina, who is on a private visit to the United States, will return to Bangladesh on April 22-23.

Sheikh Hasina, who left the country for the US on March 15, was earlier scheduled to return on April 16.

The AL President, now in Florida, would stay a few days with her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, who is expecting her third baby, AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim told UNI.

She will leave Florida for Washington on April 9 to attend two meetings with expatriate Bangladeshis.

On way home, She will stay for a couple of days with her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, in London and attend some meetings.

Terming as ''propaganda'' the news against the Awami League that a few top leaders would leave the party, Mr Selim quoted Sheikh Hasina as saying, ''it was nothing but an attempt by a vested quarter to mislead the countrymen''.

''I don't believe any Awami League leader will desert the party as everyone wants to remain with it. There may be differences of opinion on various issues among the party leaders and that is natural for a big democratic party like the AL,'' the former Minister said quoting Sheikh Hasina.
