Guj govt chalks out welfare scheme for salt workers
Gandhinagar, Apr 2 (UNI) The Gujarat Government has chalked out a welfare scheme worth Rs 11 crore for thousands of salt workers of the state.
The Welfare scheme will cover basic amenities such as housing, water supply, food rationing and others, an official release said here today.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi will distribute identity cards, bicycles, school kits, bags and other things at a function to be held in Patdi town in Surendranagar District on April 6.
The function will be presided over by Gujarat Roads and Buildings Department Minister I K Jadeja. Over 20,000 salt-workers from all over the state will attend the function, the release added.
