GM India records highest ever sales in the country.

Mumbai, April 2 (UNI) General Motors(GM) India recorded its highest ever monthly sales volume in India since its inception. The company sold 4542 cars in March 2007.

Compared to the same period last year, this year sales figure registered a 12 percent growth against 4070 units sold in the same month last year. Company's March 2007 sales numbers included Chevrolet Tavera 2175 units, Chevrolet Optra-426 units and the Chevrolet Aveo 1941 units.

Mr P Balendran, Vice President, GM India, said,''We are very pleased to see such a robust growth for all our carlines under the Chevrolet brand.'' ''The company is also now all set to launch the Chevrolet Spark to mark its entry into the mini car segment'', he added.

GM India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation.
