Farmer-couple end life

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 2 (UNI) A debt-ridden farmer and his wife allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Rentachintala village in this district, today.

According to police, V Anjaneyulu (27), a cotton farmer, had availed about Rs two lakh from money-lenders for cotton cultivation.

However, the crop failed and he was pressurised by the financiers to repay the money.

Unable to bear it he, along with his wife Anjaneyulu (25), took the extreme step.

They were found dead this morning. They are survived by a three-year old son and a seven-month-old daughter.
