EC suspends 2 officials for EPIC irregularities

Siddharthnagar, Apr 2 (UNI) Election Commission (EC) has suspended two district officials here due to irregularities.

According to official sources, tehsildar Arun Kumar Rai and kanungo Onkar Lal were suspended following irregularities in the distribution of election photo identity card (EPIC).

In a probe, EC special observer D Satyamurti had found 900 voters card undistributed, which were shown otherwise in papers.

Earlier, District Magistrate Vishal Rai and Sub Divisional Magistrate B N Singh were also transferred for the same reason.
