Dispute during Shakti's event in MP

Ujjain, MP, Apr 2 (UNI) While listeners were enthralled by Bollywood villain Shakti Kapoor's dialogues at the 37th All-India Tepa Sammelan, an annual event in this ancient temple town, a brief dispute took place between an organiser and a mediaperson.

The programme went on late into the night on International Fools' Day. A dispute ensued between Organising Committee Member and a weekly newspaper's journalist Arun Jain and photographer Ashok Malviya. Mr Jain assaulted Mr Malviya and pushed him off the stage.

Mediapersons submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police demanding registering of a case and threatened to boycott the event. The organisers apologised from the stage but the mediapersons gheraoed the Madhavnagar Police Station late last night. A case was subsequently registered against Mr Jain.
